Blue-winged Kookaburra

Blue-winged-kookaburra in the wild
So finally I met him, too: the blue-winged cousin of the laughing kookaburra. This one here lives in the rather northern areas, I met him and his wife near Edith falls when watching out for a Northern Rosella. Our guide said their call was less remarkable, but for us they didn't call at all.
Blue-winged-kookaburra in Territory Wildlife Park
I neither couldn't really see the blue wings, but later, in the Territory Wildlife Park, I could see one from very close. Still, it wasn't the same as it sat in a cage.
