I found 2 out of 3 species of currawongs: The Black Currawong endemic to Tasmania, and the Grey Currawong, widespread along the Southcoast. They are handsome birds with a distinctive voice. I cannot describe it anymore as I even kept forgetting when I was still there. I asked Suzy several times for it - after a while, I did the shortcut and just asked "Currawong again?" Anyway, the word 'Currawong' is trying to transcript their call into human words. The Black Currawong was photographed near Fishers Point, the Grey Currawong in Melbourne, Botanical Garden. |
