Gang-Gang Cockatoo

male Gang-Gang Cockatoo

As you see, I have not seen the Gang-Gang Cockatoo in the wild. And to be honest, not even in a kind of captivity that might please him - it's a male.

At least, even in that pretty small area in the southeastern corner of Australia mainland, where it can be found, my book sais the bird was uncommon and quiet. So one may seldom see it - even more seldom the females as they are totally grey without that shiny read head. It is believed the Gang-Gang still lookes pretty much the same the ancestors of modern cockatoos 20 million years ago did.
