Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo

Yellow-Tailed Cockatoo
Something I always found special and exiting, are the black cockatoos. In Victoria, where I photographed these guys, they aren't even rare, but sometimes hard to spot. One has to take a good look around to find them in the trees. Normally, one would detect them flying as they - like many other parrots - simply cannot spread their wings without making a hell of a racket: We're flying, we're flying - can everybody see that?

This guy on the left is anyway a male - one can clearly tell by the black colour of the bill. The bill of females and young birds are horn-coloured.
