Australian Fan Palm

Australian Fan Palm, Licuala ramsayi It seems, this palm is and remains a small plant and growns mainly in the Kuranda area. I saw a couple of them there, but nowhere else. It took me a while, but finally I found out this only can be the Australian Fan palm, the only member of the the Licuala genus in Australia. They are resticted to the wet tropics and able to deal with the hurricane danger. A nice and remarkable tree of the rainforest indeed.
