Blackbean

Black Bean

The Black Bean is a tall native tree of Queensland and NSW. In it's native range, it grows along rivers and in rain forrests, but if planted elsewhere in gardens and along streets for it's ornamental flowers and dark shade, it will be able to deal with much dryer places, even with moderate frost, but remains smaller.

Another benefit of the tree is it's highly valued, dark timber, sought-after for furniture, interior and wood-carving. Also, nectar-eating birds like parrots, lorikeets and honeyeaters are attracted by the nectar-rich flowers.
